A long-time Family & Consumer Sciences agent and Homemaker advisor, Juanita Amonett’s service still impacts each and every person who sets foot into the McCracken County Extension.

In her memory, three scholarships are given out every year to students with interests in homemaking or who have been impacted by the Homemakers Association.

To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must be an active McCracken County Extension Homemaker member for at least one year or be the descendant of an active McCracken County Extension Homemaker member.

Scholarship guidelines include:

  • Applications are limited to the scholarship form with no additional pages to be attached. All blanks on the form must be filled out. The applicant must complete the application.
  • Applicants are eligible to receive the scholarship twice.
  • To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be an active McCracken County Extension Homemaker member for at least one year, or be the child or grandchild of an active McCracken County Extension Homemaker member.
  • Financial need must be shown.
  • The applicant may attend any institution of higher learning.
  • The applicant must be enrolled in at least nine hours each semester.
  • The scholarship will be awarded with 2-$500 checks for each semester ($1,000 total) provided the recipient meets the criteria. You only apply one time and if you are awarded the scholarship you receive $500 each semester.
  • For the first semester award, the student must submit an enrollment form showing at least nine hours. To receive the second semester award, the student must show a transcript with a grade point average of at least 2.5 on their first semester classes. Awards will be mailed to recipients upon proof of these criteria.
